Deadly disease
Months after Inara leaves Serenity, Mal and the crew finally learn the reason for her sudden departure: she is dying of a terminal illness. It is Kiehlβs Myeloma, a form of cancer thatβs supposedly incurable, and Inara has very little time left.

James Anderson Foster was one of those kids that actually lettered in drama way back in High School (and if you ask nicely, he might even tell you just how far back that was).
