Eugene Lyons (1898-1985) was an American journalist, writer, and editor. He worked as a foreign correspondent in the Soviet Union during the 1920s and early 1930s, initially as a sympathizer of the communist cause but later becoming disillusioned with Stalinism. Lyons went on to become a prominent anti-communist voice in the United States, writing several books and articles exposing the realities of life under Soviet rule.
