Hollywood's Oscar night sees movie star Meredith Johansen finally take home a gold statue after years of work. Across town, rookie Detective Patricia Norelli works late hoping to break through her own glass ceiling with a promotion in the LAPD.
Their paths unexpectedly intersect as they discover Johansen's lifeless body in her Bel Air residence, mere hours after the Oscar night festivities ended.
With only one note and minimal clues, authorities classified it as a suicide. Despite this, Norelli suspects it's a case of homicide.
As multiple suspects arise, Norelli and her partner Detective Brown become caught up in a web of deceit, leading Norelli dangerously close to the truth and into the clutches of a serial killer.
