Twelve make-believe spoof comedy documentaries charting the lives of celebrated fictional characters
‘Gorgeously silly’ The Independent
Have you ever wondered what became of the protagonists from your favourite childhood stories? Well, wonder no more: in these hilarious mockumentaries, the astonishing afterlives of some of the most famous figures in fiction are revealed...
The scourge of smugglers and the stalwart of the Famous Five, George, reflects on her life – and divulges the fate of the rest of the adventurous gang; Cinderella’s siblings The Ugly Sisters speak out, giving their versions of what happened after the ball; Doctor Who’s granddaughter Susan discloses the real story of her travels in time and space; and The Big Bad Wolf gives a perfectly plausible explanation for his behaviour towards the Three Little Pigs and Red Riding Hood’s granny.
We also follow the fortunes of Billy Bunter’s beastly form master Horace Henry Samuel Quelch, angelic aristocrat Little Lord Fauntleroy, Popeye, Pinocchio, Mowgli, Postman Pat, The Seven Dwarves and Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Their fates may surprise and even shock you – but they’re sure to make you laugh.
Written by Adrian Mourby, who won the Sony Silver Award for Creative Writing on Radio for the first series, these witty tongue-in-cheek pastiches feature star casts including Warren Mitchell, Prunella Scales, Michael Williams, Eleanor Bron, Rosemary Leach, Jane Asher, Sir Michael Hordern, Leslie Phillips and Andrew Sachs.
