Last Netgear Nighthawk I buy! All features that keep popping up should come free like every other router! Especially when it comes to security! There is no technical support unless you pay for it. You call, and that's all they talk to you about. To get a subscription of their Bitdefender cyber security? If you don't pay, expect no help. The app is ok, but I haven't received any updates since I bought this router the Rax50? All I ever bought was Netgear. But I see that there'sway better routers!

The jury is still partly out on the Nighthawk app. But my initial review isn't good. I just finished setting up a mesh system, and the app has been buggy and fiddly as hell. Several times it told me the router wasn't compatible with the app. If you take more than 60 seconds on a task, a contact support pop-up appears. God forbid you have any other apps open or attempt to switch between them. At the moment, I hope I don't have to use this app often.

The hardware is fine. The app is good for basic WiFi settings and that's it. Anything advanced will require you to log in to the router on your PC though a web browser. WiFi analytics doesn't work at all, it just spins and nothing loads, the meter and graphs don't to anything. Changing settings often fails and you have to try a couple times for it to take. Because of these issues the app is worthless after initial setup. Uninstalled.
