The LEGO® Super Mario™ app is the official companion app for the ever-expanding range of LEGO® Super Mario™ building sets. The app enhances the creative experience for builders with digital instructions, tips for different ways to rebuild levels and play, and other inspiring features.
With the LEGO® Super Mario™ app you can:
• Establish a Bluetooth® connection between the app and brick-built LEGO® Mario™, LEGO® Luigi™ and/or LEGO® Peach™ figures.
• Build your sets, easily add them to your digital collection and expand your personalized LEGO® Super Mario™ universe (combining Expansion Sets with a Starter Course for interactive play).
• Get easy-to-follow 3D building instructions for all of your LEGO® Super Mario™ building sets.

The app is fantastic. The number of ADS is ridiculous. There are even more ads on our kids' fire tablet!! Every 5-8 steps the kids do on their new kits, they have to sit through a 90-120 second ad. Every 5-8 steps!!!! That's INSANE! A 20-30 minute project turns into 1.5 hrs because the kids accidentally click on the ad trying to get out of it, have to go back, the whole lego app refreshes every time, you have to find your place again, and low and behold a new ad starts ups 🤦🏻♀️

This app KILLS the battery and causes my phone to overheat. My phone meets all the requirements to run the app. I hate having to go to the app for my son to be able to put the sets together. Why can't the instructions be included like other LEGO sets? He can't even enjoy the app play because of this issue. So what's the point of buying more of these sets? Edited to add, my phone never overheats or even get warm, and this was the only app open. Nothing was open in the background.

We’re sorry to hear you're disappointed and appreciate the feedback. If your phone tends to overheat, we'd suggest closing any other apps running in the background. The app comes with features such as 3D instructions with zooming + angle adjustments. If you prefer PDF instructions, they can be downloaded via LEGO.build/MarioBI-GPlay. - LEGO® CS

Luigi won't connect to the app. We tried factory reset and new batteries. The issue started soon after we got Peach. Mario and Peach connect to the app and each other but Luigi is not doing anything. The app keeps saying "connect again" he worked before but since Peach moved in Luigi is being a jerk.
