NOTE ON GPS SUPPORT: Strava depends on GPS for recording activities. In some devices, the GPS does not work properly and Strava will not record effectively. If your Strava recordings show poor location estimation behavior, please try to update the operating system to the most recent version. There are some devices which have consistently poor performance with no known remedies. On these devices, we restrict installation of Strava, for example the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 and the Galaxy Express 2. Strava is one of the few apps I find worth subscribing to. The heatmaps are a great feature — the global heatmap helps with route planning. I enjoy seeing my personal heatmap as well. The route planning feature is practical and reliable, which is essential since we plan all our vacations around bike touring. I also appreciate the social aspect; it feels like a positive and motivating community without the noise of traditional social media. The targets and leaderboards are an extra motivation.

I used to subscribe to premium to support the platform. I have cancelled my subscription for 2 reasons. First, they keep increasing the price without providing sufficient additional features. Second, they keep making changes which are well not thought through. Example being the recent changes to their API agreement. It's basically useless to external apps. Looks like they are setting up for allowing tiers of API access. Or them removing links, maybe they will charge people to post links too

Hi there. We fixed a couple bugs and made some performance improvements, so the app should now be almost as speedy as you. Have fun out there!
