Hands down the best free to play strategy game to grace the mobile market. No ads, great addictive gameplay loop, well balanced unit progression and after hours of playing the free version, you are free to expand by purchasing other, creative factions for a couple of euros each. Which are all worth it. I can't recommend this game enough. The only downside is that the music is a bit lacking, but bless the developer's soul that's part of the low-poly, indie charm of this lovely game. Play it.

I'm playing solo only and it's good for a few days. Pretty simplistic as there's no campaign and only One skill tree that you can learn in a single game. Units are "kind of" rock-paper-scissors(range vs. speed vs. strength). Money to unlock different factions, which only have some different quirks, which is a good business model, imo. Once you've beaten the AI, there's nothing else to do, but it's fun while you're going, and you can come back and start a new game when just bored.

I've kept Polytopia installed on my devices since 2017 and it remains an enormously entertaining strategy game. Slick and polished, it has run perfectly on every phone I've had. It has no ads and a wealth of gameplay settings to customise your experience, plus online or pass and play multiplayer. The only in app purchases are extra tribes and skins, which are fairly priced and worth it. It's honestly one of the best and most enduring mobile games ever and needs to be played by strategy fans!
